Polar Bear Hot Chocolate
Updated: Jul 16, 2020

Aren‘t these absolutely adorable? I may have been a little overzealous with this project (THREE bags of marshmallows, Rachel?) but I couldn’t resist. They were fun and easy to make and were the perfect topping to our creamy dreamy white hot chocolate!

Ingredients for Polar Bear Marshmallows:
🔲 jumbo marshmallows
🔲 regular marshmallows
🔲 mini marshmallows
🔲 white chocolate chips (about 1/4 cup)
🔲 candy eyes
🔲 brown candy pieces (M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces, chocolate chips etc)
🔲 spreaders (plastic knives, spoons, popsicle sticks)
Ingredients for White Hot Chocolate:
🔲 4 cups milk
🔲 1 cup white chocolate chips
🔲 1 tsp vanilla
Optional:
🔲 whipped cream
To Make Polar Bears:
Begin by melting the white chocolate chips in the microwave or on the stove. This will serve as your ”glue” for attaching all the polar bear parts.
Next, cut a regular sized marshmallow in half.

Spread a little bit of the melted white chocolate on the cut side and place it on the top of a jumbo sized marshmallow.

Like this:

Attach a brown candy piece in the center for the nose. Then attach two eyes and two mini marshmallows for ears.

Isn’t it so cute?!

This recipe makes a ton. We made about a dozen and then saved the rest of the marshmallows for different projects.

Now it’s time to make the hot chocolate! Pour the milk into a saucepan and begin heating at medium heat. Add a heaping cup of white chocolate chips and a teaspoon of vanilla. When the white chocolate chips melt, it is ready to drink. Serve in a mug with whipped cream (optional) and a polar bear marshmallow. Or you can serve over ice for a take on a white chocolate frappucino!

And if you didn‘t already think this would be absolutely delicious, that smile says it all!
